Book Review: Roboteer (2015) Alex Lamb

Humans have a little problem.   An advanced race is testing us to see if we are worthy to join the cosmic community.   A novel concept in science fiction. The twist here is that the aliens (The Transcended) want humans who are willing to “improve” through genetic modification. Our hero, Will, is one such individual who was modified to communicate with various robots (hence Roboteer).   Will must first convince his crewmates that the Transcended are about to blow up the nearest star and then lead them to defeat the unmodified humans from Earth. There is, of course, sequels – even a trilogy.
